AmChamSpain Christmas Cocktail Party

On December 12th, AmChamSpain celebrated its traditional Christmas cocktail party in collaboration with Vanity Fair at Palacio Neptuno in Madrid.

 

This cocktail party, attended by over 250 guests, brought together some of the most well-known political and business leaders. Among them, José Manuel González-Paramo, executive director of BBVA, Irene Cano, General Manager of Facebook, Paloma Beamonte, President of Xerox, María Rio, Vice President of Gilead Sciences, Javier Targhetta, President of Atlantic Copper, Jason Wild, Vice President of Salesforce, Laura García-Molero, President of the APD, Cristina Gallach, High Commissioner for the 2030 Agenda in Spain, Eloy Velasco, National High Court judge, José Manuel Villegas, acting President of Ciudadanos and Tita Astolfi, candidate for the Congress of Deputies for Partido Popular in the last elections.

 

During his welcome speech, AmChamSpain’sChairman, Jaime Malet, highlighted several achievements celebrated by the Chamber this year, including the long-awaited ratification by the US Senate of the Protocol Amending U.S.-Spain Tax Treaty as well as the organization of the 2019 Europe Summit in Madrid, in collaboration with Concordia, an entity that holds one of the most important Summits in New York during the week of the United Nations General Assembly. Malet also emphasized what will be the priority of the Chamber for the next three years: working toward the adaptation of the business community to the principles of responsible investment (PRI) and the incorporation of measurable criteria in favor of the environment, society and good governance (Environmental, Social & Governance, or ESG).

 

Aida Casamitjana, Executive Director of AmChamSpain, led the Delta Air Lines and MCE raffle and thanked event sponsors and partners, as well as the Chamber’s staff for their continued support throughout the year.
