The American Chamber of Commerce in Spain, AmChamSpain, held an online meeting the 24th of December of 2020, about its members with the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa. During the encounter, a variety of companies from the healthcare, biopharmaceutical and health technology sectors participated. The meeting was headed by the highest representatives of Pfizer, MSD, Gilead and Boston Scientific, and also by several members of the governing board of AmChamSpain.

 

The Minister pointed out the necessity of colaboration which starts with private public prayer to lead and boost the vaccination process which is starting this Sunday . He also mentioned the desire of the companies to attract major inversions towards our country, leaning on the promnent position Spain occupies in an international level, by leading to the realization of clinical trials and testing of different technologies, right after EE.UU. This condition situates Spain as a potential healthcare innovation hub which could attract new projects of global relevance, which would contribute to the reactivation of the economy of the country and the creation of qualitative employment. 

 

"The colaboration between Europe and EE.UU. is essential to get out of this healthcare crisis, and Spain could play an important role if American and Spanish companies colaborated with each other and also along with the Public Administration” stated the President of the Chamber, Jaime Malet, at the end of the meeting.
