Industry, Energy, and Competitiveness Committee Meeting

Private Event
27 Nov 2025, Madrid

On November 27, our Industry, Energy, and Competitiveness Committee met in Madrid at the offices of our member company Jones Day.

The session began with a welcome from Antonio Logroño Royo, Co-Chair of the Committee, who underscored the strategic importance of access to the electricity grid for industrial development in Spain and the need to collectively address the challenges facing the sector.

Next, Bárbara Fernández Cobo, Counsel at Jones Day, highlighted how this access has become a critical factor for competitiveness, especially for emerging sectors such as data centers, renewable hydrogen production, the electrification of industrial processes, and energy storage.

The meeting continued with a dynamic roundtable featuring contributions from Nailia Dindarova of Amazon Web Services and Abel Santamaría Rivera of Iberdrola, who offered key perspectives on innovation, energy planning, and regulation, enriching the discussion with valuable insights for the participating companies.

In this context, the committee session aimed to outline a clear picture of the current situation and identify the main challenges looking ahead.

AmChamSpain extends its gratitude to Jones Day for hosting the meeting and to all attendees for their commitment to fostering a more competitive, innovative, and sustainable industry.
