  THE AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN SPAIN
Founded in 1917, is a nonprofit association of both Spanish and American businesses and businessmen, dedicated to the promotion of commercial, economic and industrial relations between Spain and the United States.

The Chamber benefits from close relationships with the administrations of both countries but is totally independent, supported exclusively by member's dues.

July 9th,  2008, Madrid: Business luncheon with Miguel Fernández Ordoñez, Governor of the Bank of Spain at 2 p.m. at the Hotel Wellington.

July 15th, 2008, Madrid: AmCham Spain is organizing a business luncheon for a high-level delegation from Texas headed by Texas Comptroller, Susan Combs. Ms. Combs will be accompanied by  top Texas institutional representatives and businessmen. The luncheon will take place at the Hotel Palace, Madrid.

 

RECENT EVENTS

June 5th, 2008, Barcelona: The Race for the White House and Beyond: Looking ahead to 2009. This high-level seminar analyzed the state of the presidential race as well as the economic and foreign-policy challenges which the next President of the United States will face. Among other prominent speakers, the event included a keynote presentation by Senator John Edwards, the Democratic vice-presidential candidate in 2004 and candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004 and 2008.

May 11-16th, 2008. Spain-US Business Development Mission to the State of Texas. Spanish companies in several sectors –among them Energy, Life Sciences, Information Technologies and Food- visited Texas, touring three main cities (Dallas, Austin and Houston), and met the state’s main business development institutions, research centres and especially potential business partners. The mission should result in an increase in the presence of Spanish companies in Texas, which ranks third among US states in attraction of FDI. Specifically the mission promoted: Direct investments by Spanish companies, Joint ventures with US companies,Import-Export-Distribution, Exchange of know-how and Licensing agreements.
