  THE AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN SPAIN
Founded in 1917, is a nonprofit association of both Spanish and American businesses and businessmen, dedicated to the promotion of commercial, economic and industrial relations between Spain and the United States.

The Chamber benefits from close relationships with the administrations of both countries but is totally independent, supported exclusively by member's dues.

FUTURE EVENTS
March 14th, Madrid: AmCham Spain and the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union are jointly organizing the high-level international conference “Launching a new agenda for a transatlantic economic alliance” about the legislative and regulatory framework of the transatlantic economic relationship. The conference will examine from a predominantly business standpoint the prospects for the creation of a more integrated transatlantic market between the US and the European Union in accordance with the proposal put forward by the German EU Presidency.
RECENT EVENTS

January 15th, 2007: AmCham business-luncheon about “Defense in Spain and our ties to the United States”. This event, sponsored by Indra, featured Spain’s Minister of Defense, Mr. José Antonio Alonso, as its speaker of honor, as well as the US Ambassador to Spain, the Honorable Eduardo Aguirre. The business-luncheon was held at the Palace Hotel in Madrid (Plaza de las Cortes, 7). Speech by Mr. Jaime Malet

November 30th, December 1st: Future of Europe Summit in Andorra. Inaugural meeting with the theme “Making Europe a global leader in Innovation.” The meeting, hosted by the government of Andorra and organized by Smadja & Associates Inc., will bring together about 300 leaders from business, politics and academia, with a special emphasis on those actors who are at the forefront of thinking on change, innovation and entrepreneurship. The Forum will also provide an opportunity to discuss economic and business strategies with business leaders and experts from around the world, in particular India and China.
